About Oswald Sawh

Oswald Sawh has been a resident of Thompson for over 33 years. He retired in 2021 as the Chief Executive Officer for the Communities Economic Development Fund (CEDF) after working for the Provincial Crown Corporation for approximately 22 years and has currently been serving as the Executive Director for the Thompson Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (TNRC) for the last 5 years.
Oswald has also been an active community member and volunteer in several areas including:

  • Being a City Councillor from 2002 to 2010, serving as Deputy Mayor in each of his first 2 terms and has recently returned to Council after been elected in a by-election in October of 2024.
  • Being a founding Director for the Thompson Humane Society in 2002, serving as the volunteer Board Chair for the last 24 years.
  • Being a founding Director for MAPS, serving as the volunteer President for the last 22 years.

His educational background includes having a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree.
